Manfred Mueller, ACAPA, P IAAP

Manfred is an award winning Ottawa, Canada based photographer who travels nationally and internationally to capture unique and compelling images from wherever he goes.  From hunting with the Bushmen of the Kalahari to celebrating Holi in Northern India, he gets right into the middle of the action to capture these activities when and where they are happening.  His travels have taken him to over 60 countries, from sophisticated world class cities to exotic villages in less developed places.

When he is at home, in Canada he primarily spends time in his studio creating Fine Art Still Life images.

He is a member of the Canadian Association for Photographic Art (CAPA). He is on CAPA Board of Directors in the Director of Education role where is responsible for delivering educational materials to individual members and member clubs. He is a CAPA Certified Judge and judges national, regional and local competitions across Canada. He is one of the authors and instructors of the CAPA Judging Course‍. He is a frequent speaker at photo clubs across Canada. ‍

Education, Awards, Publications and Exhibitions

Education: Manfred has a diploma in Photographic Arts and Production from the School for the Photographic Arts - Ottawa (SPAO). He has also taken numerous photography related course at SPAO and at Ottawa’s Algonquin College. He has attended workshops and masterclasses in Ottawa, Guatemala and India.

Awards: He has received almost 100 local, national (CAPA) and international awards for his work. He was awarded an Associate Fellowship (ACAPA) in 2014 for his work in support of photography in Canada. He has also been awarded Pioneer status (P IAAP) by the International Association of Art Photographers.

Publications: Manfred’s work has appeared in Canadian Geographic Travel Magazine (Fall / Winter 2018 - 2019) and the Ottawa Business Journal (2019 Giving Guide), PhotoED Magazine (Fall / Winter 2024 - 2025), Canadian Camera (multiple edits from 2020 to present), A multi-page editorial piece on Lathmar Holi (Nandgaon and Barsana, India) appeared in the Fall 2020 edition of Canadian Camera.

Exhibitions: His work has been shown at the Ottawa Art Gallery, Kanata Civic Art Gallery, SPAO Gallery, Ron Maislin Playhouse (Kanata Theatre) and at the RA Gallery.
